Our slim organisational structure allows us to flexibly respond to market demands. All our interpreters and translators are free-lancers tested and tried both over long years of cooperation as well as through detailed assessment checks before and in the course of their first assignments and ongoing evaluations during later jobs. This allows us to always pick the most suited professionals for your project needs without excessive monthly overheads which by the end of the day would have to be footed by you, our clients.
Written translations are the products of creative intellectual work. As such they should not be measured in terms of the time invested into their production, but only by the final outcome - precision, correctness, style, choice of register, flow etc. Hence at ad hoc we have consciously decided against working with salaried translators as such concepts tend to churn out maximum quantities in minimum time, often sweatshop-style and with minimum concern for quality. Our translators work from their own, decentralised offices around the globe, which enables them to make optimum use of their resources and capacities at their own discretion and subject to the details of the job on hand. This approach has proved extremely successful ever since ad hoc was first founded.
For interpreting assignments ad hoc also exclusively contracts free-lance conference interpreters with greatest care applied not just to their areas of specialisation and language combination, but also on-job experience. The majority of our interpreters spend more than 100 days a year in the booth, yet another proof for the quality of their work. Many are regular free-lancers with various international organisations, mostly in Brussels. Over the years our team of interpreters has grown into one of the most numerous in the industry - which is not surprising considering the more than 170 conferences we handled last year alone, often 5 or 6 in parallel!
At our headquarters a team of seasoned project managers stands ready to organise and coordinate your projects. They are your contacts throughout the various project phases, from first inquiry to final follow-up. For optimum results they are supported by both computer specialists and our marketing team - and, of course, office dogs Bobbitt and Lorena!
